Come drop off your lost rolls, America!

Do you have an old roll of film lying around—in the back of a drawer or tucked in shoebox? Wonder what’s on it? How long has it been sitting there—5 years? 10 years? 15 years? Longer? Submit it to one of our convenient drop-off sites. FUJIFILM will develop and scan it free of charge, and get it back to you.

You choose one image—any one you want for any reason you want! Give us a short description of why you picked that image (we’ll guide you with helpful questions). Then see your image become part of a national archive, with the chance of being part of a book and exhibition in 2017.

How It Works

  1. Download (see link to the right) and print out your Lost Rolls America Information Card. You MUST include this card when you submit your film.
  2. Place your 1 -2 rolls of film and the Information Card inside an envelope. Any size envelope is fine.
  3. Mail to the PhotoShelter shipping address provided on the Information Card,  Attention: Lost Rolls America
  4. Now wait. You will be notified via email when your film has been processed.
  5. At that point, follow the link that is emailed to you. There you will find your images in your own private gallery.
  6. Select your favorite 1-2 images, add your stories, comments, or musings to those pictures. (We’ll guide you with helpful questions.)
  7. You will be notified via email once your image/s is part of the archive.
  8. You will have 4 weeks to choose and write about an image to be part of the national project. Ultimately, negatives will be returned to you.
